Tote Bag Design for Beginners

How you design your custom tote bag matters! Use these ideas for inspiration on designing artwork for your tote bag.

Tote Bags are a great way to share your story with your customers. How you design them is important because they act as personal, portable billboards! If tote bags are new to your product line, here are some creative ways to design your tote!

Environmental Message

A reusable tote bag is environmentally friendly, and a Made in the USA tote bag from Enviro-Tote shows you are especially environmentally conscious. Since all of the bags are cut, printed, and stitched in New Hampshire, there is less of a carbon footprint than with buying bags overseas. Print on our special Bottle Bag Material™ made from 100% PET, Recycled Cotton, or Organic Cotton to enhance your message–and the environment, too!

Lots of Color!

Be bold! Your design can have up to 7-9 colors (depending on material type) for screen printing. Not enough colors? Check out Heat Transfer or Direct to Garment printing options for unlimited colors.

Simple Prints

One color printing is economical and beautiful –don’t let budget stifle your creativity! Consider placement, size, font, and ink colors to design a great one color print!

Off-Center Fun

Have some fun with a print that burst out of the side of your tote!

All over Prints

All over printing makes for a great statement with your totes! Because Enviro-Tote stitches the bags after they are printed, you have the option of the images bleeding into the seams. With a standard maximum print size of 15″ x 16″ included in the price of your bags, you can make quite an impression. Ask about our jumbo print sizes, which can go up to 16″w x 19″h for our larger totes!

Don’t let the designing portion of your tote overwhelm you and use these suggestions as a guide to get started! If you have any questions about any design element, don’t hesitate to reach out!
