Who is Enviro-Tote?
Enviro-Tote was started in 1990 to replace the amount of paper and plastic bags being used in college bookstores. We carried only natural cotton (no dyes or bleaches) at the time. As we have grown over time, we have added other materials including colored cottons, Bottle Bag™ (made from recycled plastic) and organic cotton. Learn more about us!

What does it mean to be American Made?
All of our bags are cut, printed, and stitched in New Hampshire. In addition, many of our materials are domestically sourced as well.
We take pride in our bags being Made in the USA.
How do I place an order?
- Select your bag style from the individual products page
- Choose your material, handle color, handle length, and print if applicable.
- Upload art using the “Browse” tool if we are printing your bags
- Enter Order quantity
- Add to cart
- Proceed to check out
- Register to create an online account if you are new or a returning customer. Registering allows you to place reorders easily!
- Confirm billing info, shipping info, ship method and payment info.
- Review order & Submit for processing!
- Once your order is processed by customer service, we will reach out to you with a sales order and digital art proof via email for your final approval. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you review any and all order details, as well as the digital art proof! If any changes are to be made, this would be the time before the order goes to production.
- Approve the order, art proof, and ship date and you’re done!

What is the lead time on orders?
We are typically at a 7 week lead time for printed totes and 4 weeks for unprinted totes. These times change throughout the year. Rush Shipping options are available! If you have an event and need to get your bags quicker, please call us to discuss delivery.
Are rush options available if I need them sooner?
Yes! We can absolutely accommodate most rush orders. Give us a call to submit a rush request! Rush fees may apply.
What is the minimum order?
50 is our minimum order quantity for both printed and unprinted bags.
What are the setup charges?
The setup charges will vary on the print method. For screenprinting, each new artwork (or image) has a one-time setup charge of $35.00 per color / per image / per side. For heat transfers, there is a setup charge of $25.00 each order, per image / per side. Direct to Garment printing has a setup charge of $35.00 each order per image / per side.
Can I order a sample?
We do have a limited amount of sample tote bags available to send to prospective customers who are trying to decide on a style, material, etc. Complimentary samples are limited to 1 tote per customer.
Can I see a proof before production?
All orders placed will receive a digital mockup of the artwork on the tote bag style specified on the sales order for customer approval prior to production.
We also offer the option to produce a pre-production sample. The charge for this is $50 for one color per printed side, plus $10 for each additional ink color, plus any art and screen charges.

Can I order just one?
No, our minimum order amount is 50 pieces.
What type of files do I send?
For screenprinting, we need editable vector artwork, usually in the .ai, .eps, or .pdf format. For heat transfers and other printing methods, we can accept .jpg or .png files at high resolutions. For more information visit our Art Specs page, or send your design to firstname.lastname@example.org and Customer Service can determine if your art is print-ready.
What does “vector” mean?
Vector graphics are composed of paths with a start and end point, with other points, curves, and angles along the way. The path can be a line, square, triangle, or other shapes. These paths (shapes) can create simple outlines, or complex designs. Because vector images are not made up of pixels, they can be scaled easily without losing resolution.

What is the imprint area?
Each of our tote bag styles have their own suggested imprint area that can be found on the Art Specs Page . As a general rule for screen printing, the design needs to fit within a 15″ x 16″ area, or a jumbo print can be up to 16″ x 19″. We have templates available for art placement, too!
What are the different methods you can print?
We can screen print, heat transfer, and direct to garment print on all our materials. On our white Bottle Bag™ material, we can also offer dye-sublimination.
Do you use four color process for printing?
No, we do not use four color process. We spot print ink colors using the Pantone Color Matching System.
Do all the bags need the same art design or ink color?
Each order of bags needs to meet the minimum order of 50 bags per design / style. However, the same design can be printed on the same material type with an extra charge (i.e. white ink design on red, purple, and black 10 oz material). We also can also accommodate ink color changes for the same artwork with an ink change setup fee. Please contact us for details and pricing about your specific requests.
Can I personalize a bag?
No. We do not personalize individual bags.
Totes & Materials
Can I get a specific color material?
We have access to additional colored canvas material if you meet the specific quantity minimums. Contact a customer service rep for more information on custom fabric options.
Can I get longer handles?
Yes. All the standard 13″ handles can be easily upgraded to 25″ handles. Additional length handles are available upon request.
Can I get a custom-size bag?
Yes. If you need a specific bag size, work with our sales team to customize your order. 100 piece minimum applies and approval from production is needed prior.
What extras can I get?
We offer a variety of closures, including panel and non panel zippers, snap closures, and velcro. Add an interior or exterior pocket to almost any bag. If you are interested in the options, please contact us for more information.
Where are your materials made?
Most of our materials are sourced domestically. Our organic, recycled, and 10 oz natural cottons are grown and woven in the USA. Our Bottle Bag™ fabric is also made domestically. Our Spun Poly handles are sourced domestically. We are currently searching for a domestic source for our additional fabrics.
Are your materials color-fast?
Our colored cotton canvases are not guaranteed color-fast. Our colored Spun-Poly handles are color-fast.
Are Canvas Totes Washable?
We don’t recommend washing, as cotton canvas may lose its shape, wrinkle, and shrink. However, if the totes must be washed, it should be hand-washed inside out with cold water and line-dried. If you’re looking for washable material, our Bottle Bag™ canvas is VERY washable.
How much is shipping?
Please call us for an estimate, as all shipping costs are based on package weight. We ship UPS Ground for most orders and other expedited options are available upon request.
Do you collect Sales Tax?
We are required by law to collect sales tax on non-exempt orders shipped to the following states:
Indiana, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Michigan, Washington, Colorado, New Jersey, Vermont, Maine, New York, Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, DC, Tennessee and California.
Sales tax estimates will be added to each sales order if we’re shipping to any of the states above. If your organization is exempt from sales tax, please send us an exemption or resale certificate.
Where do you ship from?
All of our items are shipped from Londonderry, NH.
Do you drop ship?
Yes. There is a minimum of 50 bags per location, and a fee of $2.00 per location.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we do ship internationally.
Is there an option to ship blind?
Yes, we are able to ship blind. If you would like your order to ship blind, please specify in the comments section of your order.
What is your over/under policy?
We reserve the right to ship over/under 5% of the order quantity, and bill accordingly. For quality control purposes, we cut, print, and stitch up to an additional 5% of your order. These “over-runs” are shipped and billed to you if they pass our quality control.
What are your terms and payment options?
New customers will need to pre-pay the first order with a check, debit or credit card, or ACH/ bank transfer. We accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.
For returning customers, we offer the option to pay automatically upon shipping (No Terms) or invoice upon shipping (Net 10). Please contact Customer Service or your sales representative for to discuss payment terms. Please note that we email invoices via paperless invoicing.
